135 years since the birth of Dora Gabe
Did you know that... ...this year marks the 135th anniversary of the birth of Dora Gabe (born Izidora Peysakh), a Bulgarian poet, writer and translator of Jewish origin. There are many disputes about the date of birth of Dora Petrova Gabe. Not only the date is disputed, but also the year. Some say she was born in 1883, others on July 11, 1886, and still others on July 5, 1886. According to some sources, her birthday is August 16, 1888. The authoritative edition of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences "Encyclopedia Bulgaria" highlights a new date of birth - August 28, 1888. In the 1980s, the opinion prevailed that Dora Gabe was born on August 24, 1888. She is the author of 98 books, published in a circulation of over 1,903,500 copies. Her works have been translated in Austria, Argentina, Great Britain, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Canada, Cuba, Lebanon, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, France, the Czech Republic. Throughout his life, he was actively engaged in translation work. Translates from Polish, Czech, Russian, French and Greek. He is also one of the founders of the Bulgarian Pen Club and its long-time chairman. Between the two wars, he was among the most active creators of Bulgarian culture - he promoted it during his travels in different countries, during his meetings and acquaintances with world-famous writers. Exports in Bulgaria and abroad stories about problems of Bulgarian literature and about the fate of her native Dobrudja. He is an adviser on cultural issues at the Bulgarian embassy in Warsaw, a representative of Bulgaria in international congresses of PEN-clubs, in international meetings of writers, translators and cultural workers. Member of the National Committee for the Protection of Peace and the Committee for Balkan Cooperation. The library at "Paisiy Hilendarski - 1870" - Balchik preserves an edition from 1946 with poems by one of the most remarkable poets loved by children and adults.

75 years since the birth of Yordan Kruchmarov
July 24, 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of the great Dobruja poet Yordan Kruchmarov. On the occasion of the anniversary, the library has arranged an exhibition of poetry books by Yordan Kruchmarov, published posthumously, and valuable belongings of the poet - his typewriter, a book prepared by him for printing and his notebook. Donated to the Literary Club "Yordan Kruchmarov" at the community center by Georgi Iliev, Sasho Serafimov and Krasimir Masurski. In 1999, the club carried out its activities as part of the structure of the "Paisii Hilendarski" folk community center. The artistic director is the famous playwright and novelist Krstyu Drenski, and the artists take the name of the talented poet and club member Yordan Kruchmarov, who passed away too young from this world, as their patron. Yordan Kruchmarov's verses sound casual, his poetic works create his own melody. The authenticity of the experiences, their tightness, the extreme clarity of the image system, the fateful kinship with nature impresses. Yordan Kruchmarov takes his rightful place among contemporary Bulgarian poets. This is a talent - strong and unique! Yordan Kruchmarov is one of the greatest losses of our modern poetry. It is difficult to guess what else Yordan Kruchmarov could have left us. We can say - a great poet and man has left us forever, but he left an immortal work, the appreciation of which will still increase, but he has received the people's love forever. On the occasion of the author's anniversary on July 23, 2023, a monument to the great Dobruja poet Yordan Kruchmarov was officially opened. At a special celebration in the courtyard of the "Svoboda 1897" municipal school in the village of Gurkovo. The laureates of the first edition of the National Poetry Contest "Salt for the Living" were awarded. The library participated with an exhibition of library documents and valuable belongings of the poet.

Slowly but surely, he turns the woman who loves him and is ready to be his servant at home, helper at work, mistress in bed, mother of his children - into a prostitute, an employee of the brothel "The Two Pigeons". As if to protect himself from her unreserved love, he flirts with the rich man's daughter and his patient. Thus, two morals, two worlds collide. Ideas about love in the civilized world and simple folk ethics speaking with the language of nature collide. The nature that is above us all.

The presentation of the music training platform Omni's Cool in the city of Balchik went great! The children were very good and obedient. They knew all the notes, guessed them by ear and we even sang along with the exercises that Vesela Morova did especially for us! Thank you to the teachers who brought their students especially for the event!

SUMMER IN THE LIBRARY 2022
For the sixth year in a row, the "SUMMER IN THE LIBRARY 2022" children's classes, organized by the "Paisiy Hilendarski 1870" Primary School, ended with a lot of cheer and a cheerful holiday. In front of their guests, the participants read Angel Karaliychev's fairy tale "The Two Old Men and the Moon" in roles, asked riddles and funny questions. They gave everyone in the audience the opportunity to create their own funny story by participating in the summer games "Tangled stories". The holiday did not pass without a treat and goodies, with which the management of the community center and the parents decided to surprise the children. We thank everyone who participated in the summer program and thus learned more about the writers and their work, met new friends with whom they experienced happy moments. We are glad that the library is a desirable place for pleasant and meaningful leisure time.
